Learn about Lane Departure Warning System
Natomas Mobile Glass is your go-to for all your auto glass needs, including recalibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). With the technology in vehicles advancing every day, ADAS is becoming a critical component of vehicle safety, and recalibration is necessary to ensure your vehicle’s sensors and cameras continue to work properly.
ADAS is designed to help drivers avoid accidents, and it features sensors and cameras that are the “eyes” of the vehicle. These systems create a safety zone around the vehicle by aiding, warning, and assisting the driver of potential problems to avoid collisions. Many newer vehicles are equipped with ADAS, including front and rear warning indicators, forward collision alerts, blind spot detectors, lane departure warnings, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian avoidance, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency steering, fully automated parking assist, highway piloting with automatic lane changes, no human interaction from exit to exit, and chauffeur mode.
Recalibration of ADAS is a sensitive procedure that requires highly technical cameras and sensors that can become out of calibration due to normal daily use, changes in temperature, standard vibrations, and windshield replacement. That’s why recalibration is essential to ensure the vehicle’s sensors operate at the highest fidelity.
Natomas Mobile Glass offers in-shop calibration services at our Fair Oaks location for vehicles that require it. Our team of highly trained and experienced technicians ensures that your vehicle is properly prepared before starting calibration to ensure the highest accuracy possible. Additionally, our in-shop location provides the perfect environment for calibration, with controlled conditions, the proper amount of space and lighting, and a limited slope or level surface.
We also understand that inclement weather can be an issue, but don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. When it rains, we can do the replacements indoors to ensure your safety and comfort.
Different vehicle manufacturers require different calibration processes, which will include static, dynamic, or dual calibration. Static recalibration requires using tools and targets and must be performed in controlled conditions with the proper amount of space and lighting in shops, not outside in parking lots. Dynamic recalibration calls for the cameras and sensor systems to go through a range of movement to recalibrate the camera system. Dual calibration requires both static and dynamic calibration processes.
The cost of recalibration depends on the make and model of the vehicle, and each vehicle has to be recalibrated per the manufacturer’s recommendations. The calibration process can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours.
Recalibration of ADAS is necessary after a windshield replacement, sensor or mounting bracket replacement, or front airbag deployment if deflected off the windshield. At Natomas Mobile Glass, we make it our mission to ensure your safety and the accuracy of your vehicle’s ADAS, so don’t hesitate to contact us for all your auto glass needs.
